Export Compliance Statement
Effective Date: July 2023
Hontas Industries conducts all activities in full compliance with applicable export control, defense trade, and national security regulations. We operate under policies and procedures designed to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or transfer of controlled technical data, materials, or services.
1. Regulatory Framework
Hontas Industries complies with the following primary export control and trade regulations, as applicable to its operations:
- U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
- United Kingdom Export Control Order 2008 and related UK strategic export legislation
- European Union Dual-Use Regulation (EU) 2021/821
- Equivalent export control frameworks in other jurisdictions where business is conducted
Our compliance program ensures that all transfers of technical data, defense articles, and controlled information are handled in accordance with these and related laws.
2. Scope of Compliance
Export control laws govern:
- The transfer of technical data, software, and technology to non-authorized individuals or entities.
- The shipment or transmission of controlled materials, equipment, or technical information across national borders.
- The access or handling of controlled information by foreign nationals, even within the same country (“deemed exports”).
Hontas Industries applies these controls to all projects, communications, and collaborations; including digital data exchange, laboratory access, and research participation.
3. Licensing and Authorization
All exports, re-exports, and transfers of controlled items or data are reviewed for licensing requirements prior to engagement. When required, Hontas Industries obtains the necessary authorizations from the appropriate government agencies before proceeding.
We may request clients, partners, or suppliers to provide classification data or export control identifiers to ensure full compliance with regulatory obligations.
4. Data Protection and Secure Communication
Controlled technical information is stored, processed, and transmitted only through approved and access-restricted systems. All personnel handling controlled information receive export compliance and data security training appropriate to their role.
Hontas Industries does not transmit controlled technical data via unsecured email or public cloud platforms. Encrypted communication channels and designated secure data environments are used for all regulated exchanges.
5. Partner and Client Responsibilities
All partners, contractors, and clients of Hontas Industries are expected to comply with applicable export control and defense trade regulations. This includes:
- Classifying their own technical data and equipment accurately.
- Ensuring that controlled data is not shared without proper authorization.
- Notifying Hontas Industries of any export-controlled materials or technology before transfer.
Engagements may be suspended or terminated if export compliance cannot be maintained.
6. Compliance Oversight
The Hontas Industries Export Compliance Office oversees adherence to all export and defense trade requirements. Our internal compliance framework includes:
- Personnel screening and training programs
- Controlled data segregation and access protocols
- Audit and record-keeping systems
